Katrina death toll in Louisiana : 197

According to FEMA reports - as of today, September. 12, 2005 the death toll for the entire state of Louisiana directly resulting from, and consequent to the flooding after the hurricane is 197 (that includes New Orleans). These are truly minimal casualties for this scale disaster - and it only highlights the superb and lightning fast response of the federal government to this massive scale disaster - I personally applaud efforts of Mr. Chertoff, head of homeland security, Mr. Brown - head of FEMA, as well as the decisiveness and resolve the president G.W. Bush in this crisis. I hope the sooner New Orleans mayor Nagin and his administration will face criminal charges for the negligence in handling this situation which caused most of the latter deaths - the better. As to the liberal media hysteria of 10,000 dead - this is yet another example of how they use lies, and one-line sloganeering rather than facts to play on people's emotions.
