Tragedy in Toronto

This is Jane Creba, a 15 year old student from Riverdale Collegiate Institute high school in Toronto, she was shopping with her mother and sister on Boxing Day in downtown Toronto core at Young and Dundas, when two black gangs started shootout in the broad daylight in what police described as "turf war", resulting in chaos, 6 people being wounded, and this athletic, outgoing, friendly girl catching a fatal stray bullet to the head walking out of the store as panic ensued. Police is still on lookout for 10-15 suspects, as people are reluctant to come forward out of fear of reprisals.
This is Paul Martin's, Canadian idiot prime minister's gun registry program at work; and what does this idiot say in response to her death? Let's give more money to urban youth centers?! I hope everyone clearly understands now, why country of Canada can't afford Liberal government in power anymore.
I urge fellow Canadians, in the memory of this young girl and other victims of gun crimes, VOTE LIBERALS OUT OF OFFICE, we need a responsible government, a conservative government that will toughen up gun-crime penalties and stop Canadian penal system from having a revolving door, reform "young offenders" act to put these savages away for a long time, crackdown on illegal immigration, and push greater immigration reform so that criminals can't get into our great country and deport those already in to prevent tragedies like this.

RIP Jane Creba, we will not forget you

STOP VIOLENCE IN TORONTO - VOTE CONSERVATIVE JANUARY 23rd, 2006

It is so sad, an innocent young lady shot down in cold blood. And what do the weak-kneed political leaders say? They blame it on "society," we didn't do enough for the criminals! My solution: lock the criminals up for 50 years instead of 5, and make them take responsibility for their criminal actions.

Toronto needs to begin 2006 by healing the wounds of city-wide gunfire from 2005.

I was the one who almost immediately after the police tape was removed from the Yonge Street Boxing Day crime scene, created what the media has been referring to as a ‘makeshift memorial’ for the young victim who we now know as Jane Glenn Creba.

I am organizing an hour long vigil on Monday January 2nd, from 5 pm to 6 pm with a moment of silence at exactly 5:19 pm.

It will take place on both sidewalks along Yonge Street between Elm and Gould Streets.

That moment of silence will be exactly one week to the minute (to the best of my understanding from media reports) when Jane Creba along and the others were shot and she was killed.

The moment of silence is for ALL the victims of gunfire in 2005.

I have a webpage and blog up online :

http://www.YongeStreetPeace.TYO.ca

Please attend if you can, and BYOC, bring your own candles and BYFC, brings candles for others…

Thank you.

I was horrified watching the news the other night and hearing about the events that took place. As a past resident of Toronto, it's sad to know that the streets that I once walked up and down are no longer safe.

As a Canadian I was always proud of the fact that I live in a country that is known for its peace and low crime rates...this of course is changing. What a sad fact.

I currently live in a city bordering the U.S. and have always been pretty ticked off after a weekend news report that someone stateside came to the Canadian side of the border to drink and then ended up killing someone with a gun.

Hello border security.

Laws are so messed up.

I'm sure the Toronto Police force knows about the drug problem down in the Yonge-Dundas area. Coming from a small city and moving to Toronto in my early 20s, it was easy for me to find out that all you had to do was take the subway down to Dundas station, get outside and buy some weed if you wanted it.

I'm not a druggie. I'm just a normal girl that went to Catholic school who just wanted to smoke some weed with my college friends. And even though this was many years ago - I feel like an idiot.

I'm sure there are many more people out there like me. Who went down to the Yonge/Dundas area to buy some weed or whatever. I feel so ashamed because even though this was years ago, I contributed in a way to the death of an innocent girl who was out shopping with her family.

I'm sure there's many more people out there like me. Kids in dorms at the U of T or at Rye High who took a stroll down to the Yonge and Dundas area to buy their little bags of weed. If they're smart enough, they too realize that they helped kill an innocent 15 year old girl.

The pain that the Creba family must be going through right now is one that no one wants to go through. Losing a family member is so gut-wrenching and I feel for them.

My heart goes out to the Creba family. I pray for them each night. My rage goes out to the mother f@#$%ers who killed her. I hope they get deported, spend the rest of their lives locked up, or rot in hell.

Don't vote for a government that will do nothing this election. Pressure MP's to strengthen the border and lock of gang members for life or send them to Arnold in California so they can suffer Tookie's fate.

I feal very sad in reading this story and my heart goes out to the family of the victim. I am also very sad that someone would try and turn this into a politically misguided point. One could argue to vote liberal to create harsher gun control laws so crimes like this would never happen.

it is a sad day when a youth dies and someone arbitrarily uses her death to support their political whim. May God bless us all.
