Stephen Harper - New Prime Minister of Canada, and a Hew Hope for Canada

This is a new Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stephen_harper), this great man managed to unite traditional conservatives, progressive conservatives (moderates), and neo-conservatives (yours truly) under one banner to overthrow 12 years of liberal dictatorship of corruption, lies and decadence. Every true Canadian rejoiced in his patriotic and energizing speech promising secure, better, and stronger Canada.

Acutal parliament seat breakdown for 2006 Canadian Elections, final numbers:

Conservative - 124, Liberals - 103, Block Quebec - 51, NDP communists - 29, Independent - 1 (some Frenchie radio host from Quebec no one cares about)

Paul Martin not only announced his defeat in concession speech yesterday evening, but also made an announcement he is stepping down from party leadership position probably to avoid criminal charges - it is therefore not surprising Martin chose French - language of defeatism, to make that speech ... oh the irony.

It is glorious time for conservatism in Canada - without a clear leadership or strategy, and with the loss of confidence of Canadian people - it is unlikely libs will be calling elections soon. The Frenchies lost several seats too, so did NDP communists under Jack 'Lenin' Layton.

There were several interesting moments in these elections - Michael Ignatieff - a pro-Iraq war, pro-Bush Harvard professor, a controversial candidate who took power under cloak of Liberal party - might have some agenda of his own, especially towards liberal party leadership - we'll wait and see.

A flip-flop skunk, billionarie princess Belinda Stronach, heir to founder and owner of Magna corporation, bought her seat in one of the ridings north of Toronto (Aurora) with her daddy's money - I wonder if she can even tell Conservative from Liberal - I think she should follow Paris Hilton's lifestyle, and stay out of politics. Another repulsive woman - Olivia Chow, wife of Jack 'Lenin' Layton, also bought her votes by false promises of reparations to Japanese-Canadians for WW2 wrong-doings against their predecessors.

I guess Gomery Liberal corruprtion inquiry was a tipping point, but in either case, with over 36% of popular vote (compared to only about 30% to liberals) and 60% voter turnout - Canadians made a decision, and Conservatives are here to stay. Our military will be doubled, our troops will be honored, our taxes reduced, we will be harsh on crime, there will be immigration reform, and finally federal government will be accountable to Canadian people .

Be careful Harper, with a minority he has a very thin line to walk. Right now the Liberals have no leader but do not worry my right friend, the liberals will be back and we will get a majority government with which ever leader we go with! Also, Mr Moderator, Dryden won, you lost the bet but you won your other bet.

I can concede defeat just like any other. I believe the canadian public is willing to test the waters with this new government and see whether it will bring security and prosperity.

In a sense this is a victory for all of us. You see, Mr. Harper may be the PM but far more canadians voted against his party than for him. The Canadian public is asking us to work with each other...a sort of self equalizing checks and balances.

I personally am looking forward to a anti corruption bill and any bill that will wipe criminals off our street.

I certainly will not support a lower GST, nor will i support any of the social policies this calgarian government may have in mind.

I can certainly gurantee that Mr. Layton, Mr. Duceppe, nor the interim liberal leader, will stand for any far right sweeping changes.

Lets work together to keep this country united. We already have a mad cow scare in Alberta...this will be Harper's next big test..along with softwood lumber, afghanistan, education...etc etc

Why must the person who called Kommander a moron no be civil, is that what we will be looking forward to in this new Harper reign, uncivilized people like him, if so then it will be a rather bumpy ride.

Liberals will return and we will be inspired by whoever will lead us and we will take the house back, have fun keeping the house warm for the Liberals.

Thank you rodogg...you have been resiliant in the fight against neo conservative fascism.

Once again though...I think its more important for parliament to work together now..rather than plan for the next takeover bid....

Lots of work ahead...our country is filled with criminals and thugs. Terrorists have passed through this country...mafias run free selling drugs to kids....

If Mr. Harper is true to his word he will restore peace and order to this government.

If not..then lets find a liberal that can.
